Silent Hunter 4 gets an 8.5

Famed designer Sid Meier established and defined the submarine
simulation 22 years ago with the classic Silent Service. Although the
genre has seen better days, it continues to plug along thanks to
Ubisoft\'s solid Silent Hunter series. 2005\'s Silent Hunter III was the
last release in the series and let you captain a German U-boat in the
Atlantic during World War II. Now with Silent Hunter 4: Wolves of the
Pacific, you play as an American submarine skipper battling against
Japan. In many ways, Silent Hunter 4 doesn\'t veer too far from the
formula found in Silent Service and is a faithful successor to that
seminal game.

Phony emails ask for WOW usernames and passwords.

Monday night, a handful of nearly identical e-mails arrived, these ones seeking World of Warcraft account log-in information. The e-mails appeared to come from account@worldofwarcraft.com, and featured the same formatting and phising tactics of the second Valve e-mail. Again, the spam carried the Equal Housing Lender logo.

According to the security center on publisher Blizzard\'s official World of Warcraft Web site, phishing is one of the biggest sources of user security problems the company encounters. Downloading Trojans and other harmful programs disguised as add-ons or hacks for the game is another.

"People should be suspicious of anything that doesn’t come from a Blizzard.com email address, or attempts to forward you to a site that isn’t Blizzard.com or worldofwarcraft.com," a Blizzard representative told GameSpot. "If you’re unsure about any communication you receive, you can forward any email to our official address--billing@blizzard.com--and do NOT reply at all unless our Billing staff actually confirms for you that the message is legitimate."

As for what the company is doing to crack down on these scams, the rep said, "Blizzard works actively to combat fraud against our customers," and regularly updates players on new security measures through its forums and phone support.

Corp. Jason Dunham receives Medal of Honor posthumously. SCIO, N.Y. - At the dedication of the Marine Museum at the Marine Corps headquarters in Quantico, Va., today — a ceremony to honor those who\'ve served in past and present military conflicts — President Bush announced the next recipient of the nation\'s highest decoration for valor, the Congressional Medal of Honor. "As long as we have Marines like Corp. Dunham, America will never fear for her liberty," the president said. Corp. Jason Dunham, a 25-year-old Marine who\'d been in Iraq less than six weeks. Attacked by insurgents while inspecting a convoy, he ended up in hand-to-hand combat. "At one point he yelled to his fellow Marines \'No, no, no, watch his hand!\' Moments later an enemy grenade rolled out," Bush said. "Without a second\'s hesitation he knew what he needed to do because he saw that grenade was live," says Maj.
WOW Expansion delayed again.

Blizzard Entertainment today announced that they have decided to delay the release of their highly anticipated expansion pack for World of Warcraft, entitled the Burning Crusade. The game now has a tentative release date of sometime in January 2007. Blizzard noted that delaying the release of their long awaited expansion will give them time to "refine" additional content and assure a stable, smooth-running game. The Burning Crusade has been in a closed beta stage for several months now and is currently very close to completion.

However, Blizzard\'s announcement did not come with all bad news as their COO Paul Sams revealed his plans for subsequent expansions after the Burning Crusade: \'Starting with The Burning Crusade, every year thereafter we plan on bringing out a new expansion set.\' 2008, 2009, ad infinitum?" Can anybody say cash cow?
Glenn Ford 1916-2006

Glenn Ford the Movie actor passed away on 30 August 2006. He is and will always remain one of my favorite movie actors. Born in Canada and moved to California when he was eight. He began his movie career in 1939. Mr. Ford was not only an Movie Actor but one of a Great Long Line of Americans we now call "The Greatest Generation!", Having served in the US Marine Corps in WWII. Some Highlights of his Military Service to our country include: Ford was a US Naval Reserve officer who rose to the rank of Captain Awarded the French Legion of Honor Medal by the Country of France for his service in World War II. [1992] Served in Vietnam as a reserve military officer. Went on a jungle mission with a Special Forces Team during the Vietnam War. Below is a Statement made by Glenn Ford on America. Why I Love America By Glenn Ford I\'m proud to be an American. Let me say that again. I\'M PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN. And I believe it\'s time for every one of us to stand up for our great country. There are faults and occasional inequities in America. But the proof of how good things really are here is the lines at our borders and at our consulates all over the world of people wanting to come here and live In the last 200 years we have built a wonderful dream that other countries can only hope to achieve. So let\'s not hurt that dream by our own selfishness. If we think only of ourselves and do nothing but complain about this magnificent country instead of supporting her we will lose everything that our forefathers fought for. We must all pull together and elect good officials. And we must save energy and help our neighbors - especially the youth of America - understand the real meaning of the free enterprise system. But let\'s never forget that to remain free we must always be strong. That\'s an important lesson I learned in my Navy career in World War II. National defense must be the top priority for our country. If you are strong, you are safe. Now is the time for every American to be proud. This is the land of the free and the home of the brave. If we are not brave, we will not be free.
